In The Potter’s Hand

Before the the vessel was broken it was marred in His hands
But through the work of the Potter it was made clay again.

I am recognizing more than ever that when the Lord can’t get your attention one way He will do it another.  He loves us too much.  There comes into the life of His beloved ones fires and purgings to break down the stubborn self.  Until that life is ripped from us we will experience trials.  Our Lord didn’t lie when He said “In the world you will have trubulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world.  [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”-Jn.16:33 AMP.

I don’t speak in the case of suffering for righteousness sake but the loving discpline of our Father.  Because we belong to the Father, have been taken out of this world and placed into Christ (I Cor. 1:30) we can never again be a part of this world.  If we were of this world the world would love it’s own.  Oh, Lord may i be totally divorced from the world!

When a potter is not satisfied with a vessel he has a right to take that vessel and break it into pieces.  Once water is added that now (seemingly) destroyed  piece of pottery that was once hard and utterly resistant to change is now a new lump of soft clay.  May it be so with my heart and life.  To be softened after the breakings and made into newly moist and moldable clay by the water of His Spirit.  This is the only thing that is worth living for.  May i continually and repeatedly yield to Him.
