Being a follower of Jesus means that i am to live as an epistle of the Christ daily… There are phrases that pull away from the authority of scripture and put us in a merry-go-round of activity that can prove useless and an unnecessary waste of time. One of those things are the things in our lives that are perceived personal struggles. Whether we think it is anger, lust, greed of any variation of the deeds of the flesh. To think this way is not strictly scriptural and puts our focus on the wrong enemy. the bible does not say we are to struggle whatsoever with the flesh. The bible says we are to reckon as an act of faith that the flesh is dead. Because God put us in Christ at the Cross and killed us.

“We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men]. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, Because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him. For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.” – Rom. 6:6-11 AMP

But you say, what about Romans 7? Isn’t this a person struggling with the deeds of the flesh? Actually my friend, this is a person fooled into trying to bring about righteousness through the law. A person seeking to live free without a savior. This is a person under a curse.

“Is the Law then contrary and opposed to the promises of God? Of course not! For if a Law had been given which could confer [spiritual] life, then righteousness and right standing with God would certainly have come by Law. But the Scriptures [picture all mankind as sinners] shut up and imprisoned by sin, so that [the inheritance, blessing] which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ (the Messiah) might be given (released, delivered, and committed) to [all] those who believe [who adhere to and trust in and rely on Him]. Now before the faith came, we were perpetually guarded under the Law, kept in custody in preparation for the faith that was destined to be revealed (unveiled, disclosed), So that the Law served [a][to us Jews] as our trainer [our guardian, our guide to Christ, to lead us] until Christ [came], that we might be justified (declared righteous, put in right standing with God) by and through faith.” – Gal. 3:21-24 AMP

The greatest accomplishment of an enemy is to get you engaged in the wrong battle and focusing on the wrong thing. If there is even a remote possibility that your enemy can get you to remove your focus from the true battle he will do it and continuously triumph over you. So you wanna know where my real struggle as well as every other Christ-follower’s real struggle is? Here you go:

“For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.” – Eph 6:12 AMP

It is absolutely impossible to win a spiritual battle through natural means brothers and sister so let us not continue to be duped by the tactics of our enemy. Our victory has been won in Christ and our true struggle is in the spiritual realm let us walk with this in mind daily. God bless.
